The Zen With Ben Method

The Zen With Ben Method is a professional, modern approach to sound bath facilitation designed to help you confidently create powerful, calming, and deeply restorative sound journeys.

This training is grounded in musicality, safe instrument technique, and confident session delivery. Rather than focusing on rigid formulas, the method teaches you how to work creatively with resonance, harmony, rhythm, and flow so your sessions feel natural, intentional, and beautifully structured.

At the heart of the method is a simple principle:
Great sound baths are built on musical understanding.

Level 1 – Foundations: £250

Perfect for complete beginners, Level 1 teaches you the essential skills needed to begin facilitating sound baths with confidence.

What you’ll learn:

• Safe handling and care of instruments
• Correct use of mallets and playing techniques
• Circling and striking techniques
• Tone production and control
• Creating clean, stable resonance
• An accessible introduction to music theory
• How to structure a simple, effective sound experience

Instrument Focus

Level 1 is centred around crystal singing bowls, which form the core instrument of the Zen With Ben Method.

  • Crystal bowls are used to teach tone, harmony, and session structure

  • Tibetan bowls, gongs, and other instruments are welcome, but are complementary to the crystal bowl foundation

  • Students should ideally have access to:

    • A minimum of two, ideally three, crystal singing bowls

    • A full chakra set of seven bowls is strongly recommended

Level 1 gives you the practical foundations. Level 2 develops real facilitation skills.

Level 2 – Confidence & Flow

Level 2 is where the Zen With Ben Method truly comes to life.

This level focuses on moving beyond “playing bowls” and into facilitating professional, flowing sound journeys.

What you’ll learn:

Harmonic layering and musical structure
Working with chord progressions
Building crescendos and decrescendos
Creating smooth transitions
Holding space confidently for groups
Developing longer, cohesive sessions
Practical session delivery and flow construction
Combining multiple instruments musically

Expanding Beyond Crystal Bowls

While crystal bowls remain the foundation, Level 2 explores how to layer and integrate other sound instruments as creative counterpoint, including (for example):

  • Tibetan bowls

  • Gongs

  • Ocean drum

  • Harmonium

  • Handpans

  • Chimes and bells

  • Any other holistic or sound-based instruments

Students are encouraged to bring whatever instruments they already have. The Zen With Ben Method teaches how to weave these into a musically structured sound bath using harmony, timing, and intention.

Why Book Levels 1 & 2 Together?

Level 1 teaches you how to play.

Level 2 teaches you how to facilitate.

For anyone wishing to offer sound baths professionally, it is strongly recommended to complete Levels 1 and 2 together, as this provides the full practical framework for confident session delivery.

Level 3 – Mastery & Immersion - Date TBC

Level 3 is advanced training for those ready to go deeper.

This level focuses on:

• True multi-instrument facilitation
• Creating immersive ambient sound beds
• Advanced musical theory and arrangement
• Combining crystal bowls with gongs, Tibetan bowls, and other instruments
• Developing personal style and creativity
• Constructing full-length professional sound journeys

Level 3 is ideal for practitioners who already have experience and access to a wider range of instruments.

Accredited & Insurance Ready

All training is IPHM accredited.
Students who successfully complete Levels 1 & 2 are eligible to obtain public liability insurance, enabling you to offer professional sound bath sessions and group experiences with confidence.
