I discovered yoga in 1995 while pregnant with my first son, Josh, and it’s been part of my life ever since. After training with Conrad Paul in 2008, I wanted to share the benefits of yoga with others.
When the Short Street building came my way in 2016, I saw the perfect space for a studio and Yoga Factory was born. it’s become a wonderful community hub, and I’m so proud to see both people and the business continue to thrive. I hope you enjoy the space as much as I do.

I found yoga on a quest for healing during a time when I was struggling with my mental health ten years ago. From the moment I stepped onto the mat, something shifted, I fell in love with how yoga made me feel, the depth it brought to my life, and the profound support it offered for my mental wellbeing. My life has never been the same since.
Since 2020, I’ve continued to deepen my practice and studies, now holding over 750 hours of yoga teacher training qualifications. I’ve had the joy of teaching across the world, from classes to workshops, retreats, and Yoga teacher trainings and I feel most alive when connecting with community and sharing yoga in a way that’s relatable and relevant to our modern lives.
In my classes and trainings, I aim to create a safe, non-performative space where you can show up exactly as you are without needing to pretend or strive and feel welcomed, supported, and free to relax, connect, and come home to yourself.

Hi, I’m Lauren and I’ve been practising yoga since 2007. Yoga helped me to find a greater sense of peace and purpose after struggling with anxiety, stress and burnout in my former life as a major donor fundraiser. The practice totally changed my life and I’m here to help it do the same for you.
I completed my initial teacher training in a traditional ashram setting in Rishikesh, India and completed my second teacher training qualification in 2019 with renowned vinyasa flow teacher, Claire Missingham. More recently, I’ve completed a qualification as an Ayurvedic Wellness Coach, and look forward to sharing the teachings of Ayurveda with my students too. I’m hugely inspired by yoga and Vedic philosophy and am dedicated to demystifying these ancient teachings, making them accessible and relevant to our busy, modern-day lives.
Each month in class, we explore a different theme to help your practice and perspective grow. My classes are alignment-based, Hatha-vinyasa flow yoga and classes are infused with uplifting music and spiritual lessons for modern life. Expect to be challenged, inspired and above all, to have fun! )

I began yoga simply as a way to support my physiotherapy. There were days I found myself in bed, in tears, overwhelmed by the sensations in my back. Then yoga happened — and everything slowly began to change. Bit by bit, I eased the symptoms of my chronic back issues. The movement of my body, the awakening of muscles I never knew existed, completely hooked me.
After completing my Yoga Alliance Teacher Training in 2010, I realised that was only the beginning. Guided by the ethos “I know that I don’t know,” I travelled across India to study in places such as the Himalaya Iyengar Institute, Goa, Mysore, Varkala, and Rishikesh. Inspired by incredible teachers and students along the way, I now feel deeply grateful to share yoga in some of the most respected studios in Essex.
I’ve also completed the Yoga Alliance UK Prenatal & Postnatal Yoga qualification (2014), a further Yoga Teacher Training (2023), and Yin Elements training (2024) — bringing my total to over 800 hours of teacher training and 16 years of teaching experience. I continue to learn from teachers including R. Sharath Jois, David Swenson, Schuyler Grant, Chris Gladwell, and Tara Lee, who continually inspire and refine my practice.
In my classes, I focus on safe and mindful movement in tune with the breath. I care deeply about every student and will guide you according to your unique potential. Together, we’ll build strength, flexibility, and body awareness — while having fun and discovering more about your own practice, one breath at the time. Overall its not about how you look but how you feel.
At TYF, I’m delighted to also teach prenatal yoga — surrounded by all that blooming energy radiating from mums-to-be! It’s an honour to help them enjoy their pregnancy and early motherhood.

Opting for a simple life connected to nature, my practice reflects this with the use of simple postures and movement, a focus on effective breath work combined with mudras and mantras to access all levels of being.
As a Yoga Therapist I specialise in Women's Wellbeing, Mental Health, Sleep Recovery, Back Care, Cancer Care and many other issues. Passionately believing yoga and meditation are for everyone, I make both accessible to all with a dash of humor and a pinch of philosophy.
After a decade of Martial Arts experience, 'Naughty' Sam likes to work hard, appreciating the power and strength of yoga whilst my therapy experience allows 'Nice'Sam to be gentle , appreciating the healing, nurturing aspects of yoga. My knowledge of hypnotherapy further enhances the mind/ body connection offered by yoga and meditation.

I’m Angela, I’ve been practicing yoga for over 25 years. I fell in love with the practice when I was travelling around Australia. I found it brought me a sense of space in my crazy teenage mind. When I came home I continued to practice, being a single mum at that point I treasured the time on the mat, it brought me calm, space, clarity and patience.
When I completed my 200YTT it was never to teach, I never wanted to be at the front, I did it for my own spiritual growth. However something changed inside, so many parts of my life started clicking into place. I love to teach, heal and give people the space to feel inside their bodies and connect.
I bring so much to my classes, being a holistic therapist and counsellor, I like to combined these elements together, creating unique classes beyond the asanas.

With over 20 years of personal practice, I bring a deep respect and love for yoga in all its forms. I trained under Christopher Gladwell and The Yoga Factory’s very own Josh Lipscombe, completing my 500-hour teacher training.
My teaching is rooted in helping people build strength, confidence, and understanding from the ground up. I’m particularly passionate about gentle yoga, a practice I truly connected with during both my pregnancies.
I find immense joy in seeing how the right movement and mindful practice can transform someone’s day—or even their life. Yoga has a beautiful way of nurturing and inspiring us, and my aim is to help every student discover the style and rhythm that feels right for them.

At the end of a year abroad, I took my first yoga class in Fiji and couldn’t believe the effect it had on me! I felt calmer and became very aware of how had been holding tension in my body and around my breath. With every class, this deepened and from then on I began to live more consciously, with more ability to flow with life instead of feeling overwhelmed by it.
Nowadays I can’t imagine starting my day without my yoga practice. I love to travel and have continued to learn abroad with many beautiful teachers. In Bangkok, I practised Vipassana meditation at Wat Mahathat with the Buddhist monks that live and teach there. In 2010 I took my Reiki 1sst degree with Nick Harris, in Chiang Mai, Thailand. I am now very proud to be an 8th generation Reiki Master.
I lived and studied Yoga at an Ashram in Goa, India. I went on to complete my 200hr Teacher Training at Himalaya Yoga Valley and I am a member of Yoga Alliance. My time in India left me inspired to teach a style that honours a traditional approach, I focus on healing and strengthening the body and mind with internal focus, connection to the Body and use of the breath. My deep understanding of Yoga, Reiki and Meditation complement each other beautifully.

I’m Kirby and my career began as a Professional Dancer/Singer where I was lucky enough to travel the world doing what I love for a number of years. From that, I decided to go into teaching so became a qualified Pilates/Barre instructor.
My primary goal is to inspire others to embrace movement, cultivate a positive atmosphere, and take pride in the simple yet powerful act of showing up.
