Verity Sawyer is a dedicated guide for those seeking self-discovery through yoga, coaching, and transformative retreats. With over 13 years of experience, she creates supportive, intentional spaces for reflection, growth, and healing, helping individuals reconnect with their inner strength, clarity, and purpose.

As a Senior Yoga Teacher and specialist in Yin Yoga, Verity brings depth, compassion, and wisdom to her teaching. Her approach blends accessible, intelligently sequenced practices with a grounded understanding of the body, mind, and emotional landscape. Whether in classes, workshops, or trainings, Verity’s work is deeply nourishing and empowering.

This 50hr Foundations + Fundamentals course is a unique opportunity to study directly with Verity in an intimate and immersive environment. With more than 8 years dedicated exclusively to the study and teaching of Yin Yoga and over 300 hours of Yin-specific training with respected teachers like Sarah Powers, Bernie Clark, and Norman Blair. Verity offers an approach rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine, meditation, and energetic anatomy.

Throughout this course, Verity will guide you in experiencing Yin Yoga as a profound practice of inner awareness, stillness, and subtle transformation. Whether you're new to Yin or seeking to deepen your foundation, this training offers an inspiring entry point into the heart of the practice.

    Understanding the mind via neuroscience and the yogic lens and discovering how certain practices can change your mind from being destructive to being a powerful tool of co-creation and wellbeing

  • Yoga of the Breath.

    The breath is the gateway between stress and resilience, between creativity and destruction and is also the vehicle for prana.

    Like a magic key it gives access to deeper levels of awareness, deeper levels of the subconscious mind, the connection between mind and life-energy and to the environment.

  • Yogic Philosophy.

    Yogic philosophy is a pragmatic approach on how to live well. It seeks to answer lifes’ questions with a deep devotional dimension that engages the heart.

  • The Obstacles.

    Exploring the barriers we put up to limit our own self growth.

  • Yogic Community.

    Understanding what yogic community is and how to cultivate it is enabling, supportive, challenging and liberating.

  • Consciousness

    What is the difference between conscious and subconscious, subconscious and unconscious? What is the relationship between consciousness and awareness, awareness and attention?

    What do the yogic texts say about consciousness? What does contemporary science say about consciousness? Let’s find out and grow together in consciousness.

  • Science of Yoga.

    How does the body actually work? How does meditation affect the brain? Why do we feel good when we do certain practices? What are the areas we need to pay attention to, what might be compromising our wellbeing if we are not aware of it?

  • Yoga as Medicine.

    Traditionally yoga was to elevate beyond the the physical dimension, however its modern day usage is somewhat more therapeutic. We will explore this in depth.

  • Created for regular yoga practitioners, yoga teachers and anyone wanting to take their practice and teaching to the next level.

  • To join the course, you should have a minimum of 2 years of regular Yin practice. This can include studio classes, workshops, retreats, or consistent 1:1 sessions.

    In addition, a telephone consultation with Verity is required before enrolment.

    If you intend to teach Yin as part of your professional teaching practice, you must already hold a minimum 200-hour Teacher Training Certification.
